2022

The 49th Annual Scientific and Technology Conference of the American Auditory Society will be held at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 24 - 26, 2022. 

In-person and virtual participation opportunities are available. You will be asked to select your participation method when registering: In-person (includes virtual access) or Virtual access only. Virtual access will include access to a virtual poster and on-demand video gallery. The poster gallery will be available early February and will include 5-minute presentation videos from presenters. The on-demand video gallery will be available after the in-person conference and will include recordings of select presentations from invited speakers, podium sessions, and Technology Update sessions. CEU will be available to all registrants.

All participants at the in-person conference, including presenters and attendees, will be required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Registrants will need to upload proof of vaccination on the conference registration form. Masks will also be required on-site. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and share any necessary updates when information is available.

Attendees can contact the Scottsdale Plaza to reserve a room through (800) 832-2025. Be sure to reference the AAS 2022 Annual Meeting to secure our special group rates. Room types and rates are: Standard rooms at $249/night, Villa Suites at $289/night, Patio Suites at $289/night, and Bi-Level Suites at $339/night. The room rate includes one (1) buffet breakfast per room / per day in the Scottsdale Plaza's Garden Court Restaurant. Further questions regarding hotel facilities and other services should be directed to the hotel.

Travel and Ground Transportation

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), served by over 20 domestic and international carriers, is 11 miles from the Scottsdale Plaza Resort. Ground transportation is available via taxicab, rental cars, and limousines at all terminals.  Average one-way taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is approximately $35 - $40.  All major car rental companies are represented at Sky Harbor International Airport.

Conference CEU

American Auditory Society is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer Academy CEUs for this activity. The program is worth a maximum of  3.45 CEUs. Academy approval of this continuing education activity is based on course content only and does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedure, or adherence of the event to the Academy's Code of Ethics. Any views that are presented are those of the presenter/CE Provider and not necessarily of the American Academy of Audiology.


This conference is offered for up to 1.9 ASHA CEUs for live content (Various levels, Professional area).
This conference is offered for up to 3.6 ASHA CEUs for on-demand content (Various levels, Professional area).

The following sessions are not eligible for CEU: Trivia Night; Awards & Recognitions; Happy Hour: Hosted by Mentoring - Students and Postdocs of AAS (spAAS); AAS "No-Talent" Show.

Conference Learner Outcomes:

  • Describe two characteristics of people with hearing loss that is different from people without hearing loss addressed at the meeting.
  • Identify one clinical outcome for people with hearing, vestibular or tinnitus disorders addressed at the meeting.
  • List the overall characteristics of one device that is used for detection or habilitation of hearing, vestibular or tinnitus disorders.
