POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS at Boys Town National Research Hospital Two full-time postdoctoral research positions are available immediately (before June 30, 2018) at Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH) in the area of human communication and its disorders. Our program includes a stimulating mix of highly qualified scientists who serve as potential postdoctoral mentors, a staff of research-oriented clinicians, modern well-equipped laboratories, and strong core support in providing services related to recruiting and testing human subjects as well for technology development needed in research. These positions are funded by a T32 institutional training grant from the NIDCD. Specific areas of training and potential mentors include the following behavioral and clinical translational research programs: communication development (Sophie Ambrose), working memory and language (Angela AuBuchon), fMRI-based anxiety & trauma research (Karina Blair), auditory perceptual encoding (Adam Bosen), auditory prostheses & perception (Monita Chatterjee), language learning and memory (Katherine Gordon), cochlear implant research (Michelle Hughes), audiology & vestibular services (Kristen Janky), middle ear and otoacoustic emissions (Douglas Keefe), audiovisual speech processing (Kaylah Lalonde), human auditory development (Lori Leibold), hearing & amplification (Ryan McCreery), word learning (Karla McGregor), communication engineering (Stephen Neely), and auditory signal processing (Daniel Rasetshwane). Opportunities for collaborative research involving several laboratory groups are encouraged, as are interactions with other postdoctoral fellows at BTNRH. Fellows create and refine a training plan with their mentor(s) according to their research directions, skills they wish to further develop, and career goals. Based on this plan and their interest in furthering their grant-writing skills, fellows may be encouraged to apply for individual postdoctoral fellowships (F32 grants) at the NIH; support for their fellowship is guaranteed by BTNRH in any case. Fellows are selected from individuals holding a Ph.D., M.D. or D.Sc. in areas related to the ongoing research programs at BTNRH. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
